Description: John Witherspoon was a Scottish American Presbyterian minister and a Founding Father of the United States.Several statues and some of the medallions were designed by sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder.This figure is of great stature and wears a long robe, reflecting the characteristics of a formal scholar. His head is slightly lowered, his eyes are sharp, and his facial features are three-dimensional. He held a dozen scrolls in his hand.
